As part of its ongoing mission to strengthen Europe’s innovation ecosystem, DemosAxia continues to actively foster collaboration, skills development, and technology transfer across research and industry.

A recent visit of INL head of micro and nano fabrication facility, Dr. Ivan Prieto to Alpes Lasers enabled in‑depth exchanges on advanced laser technologies and potential collaboration opportunities. This engagement directly contributes to Work Package 4 (WP4) – Reinforced Innovation Skills. Through staff exchanges, DemosAxia strengthens personal expertise while simultaneously reinforcing institutional innovation capacities, ensuring lasting impact beyond the duration of the project. The visit was followed by Dr. Prieto´s participation in the 25th edition of the EPFL MicroNanoFabrication Annual Review Meeting, organised by the EPFL Center of MicroNanoTechnology (CMI). The event brings together leading research infrastructures, technology providers, and industrial partners to reflect on progress, share best practices, and discuss future directions in micro‑ and nano‑fabrication enabling cross‑fertilisation between Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs), academia and SMEs, highlighting the importance of shared learning environments to increase capacity for joint R&D, pilot activities, and technology valorisation.

The exchanges with Alpes Lasers and the EPFL community laid a strong foundation for future collaboration by linking skills development with concrete pathways such as joint training, pilot activities at INL, harmonised protocols, and coordinated applications to publicly funded projects, ultimately accelerating innovation uptake.
