A project like DemosAxia can maximize the added value and impact of projects IMOCO4.E and GRAPHEYE, including their platforms, networks, associations, and other initiatives consisting of identifying and leveraging the resources and creating new sources of value that form the base for building synergy. Connections and actions that are going to be developed between the DemosAxia consortium and similar or related projects or initiatives, will add value to the results generated already by previous or ongoing projects. The synergies will help in spreading the project’s results to a broader audience but also to learn from other projects’ findings. Interaction and exploitation of synergies with other projects and initiatives will be exploited to increase the outreach of potential stakeholders by organize joint events, exchange knowledge, experience, and best practices, and stimulate discussions among key players.
To facilitate generation of high-level research-based new knowledge, i.e., to strengthen and mobilize R&D intellectual capacities, encourage national and international cooperation among scientists and other researchers. To concentrate and update R&D, innovation, higher education, and knowledge-intensive business infrastructure, and to provide its effective application. Analyse the causes of success and failure in realising synergies between the three programmes at a policy, strategic and practical level, and review the effectiveness of existing mechanisms in enabling integration. Produce a matrix to help managers and policy-makers quickly identify the potential synergies, their delivery mechanisms and the measures associated with them; Assess the economic implications of greater synergy in delivery.
To promote the development of R&D intensive sectors of the economy and the development and commercial application of innovative products, i.e., to enable science and business to cooperate effectively in R&D and innovation and to advance technology development and transfer. To integrate the best-in-class technologies, facilities, expertise and experience of the partners as a one-stop-shop solution offering a comprehensive range of support to industry for the accelerated uptake and deployment of cutting-edge technologies.
To facilitate the development of new ideas, to gather and exploit new information and best practices exchange-locally, nationally and internationally- several networking activities will be incorporated within the project: a) Development of capacity-building function mentoring with tools and resources to support growth planning and implementation, b) Researchers’ training in order to increase the impact of their discoveries and innovations, c) Training of managers and administrative staff, d) Short- and long-term visits of early-stage and senior researchers, administrative staff and entrepreneurs (see Table below related to Objectives), e) Joint online lab meetings and remote access training, f) Regular virtual meetings for brainstorming and exchange of ideas on specific research problems, g) Reaching the society: Organisation of joint conferences, colloquia, hands-on workshops, virtual training sessions and bootcamps to bring awareness and uptake of technologies to local industries.
The aim of the DemosAxia project is to create a cross-border collaboration building on a long-term strategy between Crete and Braga District regions to foster research and innovation advancements in the advanced microelectronics field finalized to establish a synergy for the uptake of these advanced technologies at the benefit of the societal and industrial green and digital evolutions. DemosAxia is willing to transform INL and FORTH to serve as the cornerstone for the reference infrastructures that will function as the meeting points for researchers, entrepreneurs and citizens around the Mediterranean Sea and South West Europe.
