Experience gained at Leti Innovation Days in June 2026 informed an industry-focused programme in Braga, connecting advanced microelectronics with collaboration, skills development and long-term investment.
INL’s participation and exhibition of demonstrators at Leti Innovation Days in June 2026 provided valuable learnings for preparing the INL Innovation Open Day in Braga. The experience highlighted the importance of combining tangible technology demonstrations with space for structured researcher–industry dialogue. These lessons informed a programme bringing together technology showcases, infrastructure visits, Business-to-Researcher meetings and discussions on commercialisation, strengthening the connection between scientific capabilities and industrial needs alongside a set of talks and INL spin-off pitches.
INL’s FlexStack demonstrator was one of many showcased and provided a concrete focus for this application-oriented approach. Presented as a smart integration solution for microsystems in niche, high-added-value medical, industrial and aerospace markets, the platform offers compact three-dimensional routing, high-current interconnects and high-Q passive RF structures at chip and package level. These capabilities create opportunities for high-density rigid-flex interposers, flexible RF devices, embedded passives, wireless powering, and compact implantable or wearable systems, providing a starting point for discussions on industrial requirements, validation and joint development leveraging INL´s cleanroom infrastructure and the know how of the team.
The INL Innovation Open Day 2026 activities advance DemosAxia’s objectives: strengthening the microelectronics innovation ecosystem of Northern Portugal, fostering academia–industry collaboration, building knowledge-transfer skills and visibility, and informing sustainable R&I investment and working towards future regional project synergies.
